Fund Manager Assistant recruitment

Opportunity

To ensure both administrative and investment decision making support is provided to Investment Fund Managers. The role is a demanding one requiring communication, coordination and cooperation with multiple business areas within the organisation.

Key responsibilities
Investment decision making support to Fund Managers
- Ad hoc support for Fund Managers.
- Portfolio monitoring and risk reporting.
- Order generation for Fund Managers.
- Ensure that relevant portfolio's remain compliant.
- Monitoring cash and cash flows on the portfolios.
Segregated Fund Support
- Provide support to the Business Management Team in the operational set up of any new client business, including reviewing IMAs and ensuring that Fund Managers are aware of the investment restrictions on the funds.

Administrative support to Fund Managers
- Maintain desk procedures, how-to guides and risk registers.
- Support training and competence activities on the desk.

Change Management
- Raise, test and sign off small changes to systems, working closely with system development and front office system support teams.
General
- Liaise, resolve issues and represent the Equities department with other departments, including Information Systems and Investment Operations.
- Close liaison with Compliance and Risk, particularly around breach management and new instruments.
- Provide input to report production for other departments (e.g. Investment Information Team at month end).
- Provide cover for other Fund Manager Assistants (when necessary).

What we are looking for

- Bright, enthusiastic and proactive. Due to the nature of the role, a self starter is essential.
- Numerate, logical and analytical approach, with a mathematical discipline at A-level/degree (or equivalent) beneficial.
- P.C. literate, especially competent with MS Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels.
- Knowledge of support for alternative investment strategies including appropriate derivative strategies.
- IMC qualified (or willing to learn).
- Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Experience in relevant related role.
