Fund of Funds Tax Associate recruitment
Our Tax Team is searching for an Associate in our Princeton, NJ offices that will be responsible for assisting with the tax reporting process for various products, including Fund of Funds, Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds, and other alternative investment products.
Responsibilities will include (but are not restricted to) the following:
- Correspondence with underlying funds in order to obtain estimate/K-1 information.
- Maintenance and updating of our tracking and control systems with respect to information received from underlying investments, and ensuring all fund filings and deliverables are timely filed.
- Preparation of various tax forms including: Tax Withholding forms, Employer Identification Number requests, Entity Classification Elections, etc
- Preliminary review of the Funds' tax returns and investor tax information packages, prepared by the Fund's tax advisors.
- Tax research and consultation.
- Correspondence associated with state, federal, and non-U.S. tax notices.
- Correspondence with CPA firms, fund administrators, and advisory firms.
- Correspondence with investors regarding various tax related matters.
- Special projects, including some that extend beyond tax reporting function.
Requirements:
- 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience, including preparation and/or review of partnership income tax returns.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or commensurate experience is required.
- Public accounting experience and experience with alternative investment products including Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds, and/or Fund of Funds is desirable, but not required.
- Solid analytical and communication skills.
- Solid accounting skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office products including Excel.
- Interest in the Financial Markets and Financial instruments.
