Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for multiple fund operations functions including securities lending, tax and accounting functions across various SSgA investment products, such as:
- Manage fund closure process for CTF and ERISA funds.
- Interact with custodian on various aspects of fund operations.
- Oversight of securities lending for CTF and ERISA funds.
- Project management for initiatives within operations and the broader organization.
- Review and analysis of US tax documentation, reconciliation of withholding tax and deposits with the IRS, and preparation and filing of annual Form 1042 and 1042-S.
- Liaise with PWC to support the annual preparation and filing of Form 1065 for SSgA common trust funds (CTF), including Schedule K-1 distribution to external clients.
- Manage tax reclaim process for common trust fund participants.
- Act as general operations, tax and accounting resource for investment operations, portfolio management, relationship managers and sales and product development.
General Responsibilities
Delegate workload in a balanced and maintainable manner. Act as a liaison between internal and external clients. Implement and oversee compliance with all controls and procedures. Participate in development and testing of systems and procedural enhancements and provide training to the staff on those enhancements. Provide coverage for senior managers. Support non-Boston offices as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May manage single group, overseeing the professional development of a staff of 1-2 associates. Hire and monitor training of associates.
Scope Differentiation
Can be first-level working supervisor.
5+ years of investment operations experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Analysis and problem resolution skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong leadership and resource management skills.
