Role

To act as Fund Research Manager for the London based Investment Manager Research Unit (IMRU) which focuses on researching investment managers and funds, selecting them for various fund panels, and providing ongoing continuous monitoring and review of them. With specific responsibility for the Tied Panel that the company sell though its partners and its employed sales force.

To provide investment reports and ad hoc research to clients and to the business.

Responsibilities

• Controlling the research, development and managing the preparation of quarterly investment reports, which include reviewing the performance of funds, highlighting material news and development at the underlying managers. This is an essential tool in the ongoing monitoring of the company’s fund panels, providing information that is both educational in nature and will be used as the basis for more formal reviews of the fund panels.

• Developing the team’s knowledge of the fund manager market-place by attending, meetings and conferences (including telephone ones), and managing and developing relationships with the various fund managers.

• Organising the research of investment managers on a qualitative, subjective basis for IMRU.

• Organising the delivery of investment analysis and information to Individual Wealth, Retail Investments and other areas in the firm, including presentations and reports for Group Board, Wealth Investment Performance Committee and the Fund Panel Risk Ratings Committee.

• Coordinating the relationship between IMRU and the OBSR consultancy as well as any other third party relationships that IMRU may hold.
