Fund Taxation Manager recruitment

IOOF is one of Australia’s largest independent and pure providers of wealth creation product and services.  IOOF operates four divisions including Financial advice and distribution, Platform Management and Administration, Investment Management, and Trustee.  Within each division we promote a variety of brands including Bridges Financial Services, Consultum, Wealth Managers, Ord Minnett, Spectrum Super, Pursuit, Perennial Investment Partners Limited, IOOF MultiMix, United and Australian Executor Trustees (AET).

We are currently searching for an experienced Fund Taxation Manager within our Finance division. This role will be critical in ensuring the group’s registered schemes, superannuation funds and trusts are compliant with their taxation obligations. They will ensure these functions have accurate tax calculations for statutory reporting requirements and are reporting accurate and timely information to both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the responsibility of ensuring tax policies are current and compliant with relevant legislation while being communicated to relevant stakeholders will also be paramount.

More specifically duties will include:

•   Review of Periodic BAS statements to ensure they are accurate and can be lodged in a timely manner

•  Preparation and review of yearly income tax returns

•  Implementation of processes and procedures so that tax expense and provisions are recorded accurately

•  Ensuring the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers produce the necessary tax reports

•  Review of tax content included in IDPS and Trust Tax guides

•  Provision of advice, tax training and tax presentations to colleagues regarding taxation matters

•  Response to ad hoc queries on taxation related matters

The ideal candidate will have:

•  CA or CPA

•  Advanced taxation knowledge

•  At least 5 years experience within tax related roles

•  Ability to apply income tax legislation requirements to Superannuation Funds and Registered schemes.

•  Proven experience in funds management/ financial services industry.

•  Knowledge of FSC standards and guidance notes

•  Understanding of financial instruments

•  Excellent written and verbal communication

•  Proficient in Microsoft office
