Fundamental Analyst
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Conduct fundamental analysis of commodities and segments of the industry to build understanding of the behavior of the commodities or segments, identify key drivers, assess our beliefs regarding these key drivers, and monitor these commodities or segments on an on-going basis. Develop and implement fundamental supply-demand models to understand medium to long term price behavior of crude oil, refined products, natural gas and petchems. Create and maintain detailed reports articulating company's internal point of view on key energy fundamentals. Assist in the delivery of reports to senior management. Assist in the development of energy related fundamental databases including global data on energy commodities and macroeconomics indicators. Work with lead analysts and management to develop statistical and other analytical modeling tools to support development of fundamental views. Develop framework/forecast methodologies to be used for all fundamental analysis conducted within the team. Keep abreast of latest advancements in methodologies and tools for conducting fundamental analysis. Help train other analysts on fundamental tools and methods. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related discipline or equivalent experience required. Minimum of four (4) years related experience. Able to conduct independent research to build and utilize supply-demand models for energy commodities. Must possess strong sense and ability to support internal business customers and provide excellent analysis to support business decisions. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Business, is preferred. Strong knowledge of oil, products and gas industries. Exposure to petrochemical industry desirable. Programming for statistical and econometric modeling using statistical packages or tools (for example SAS, Stata, Matlab etc.) highly desirable.
