Fundamental Investment Grade Credit Analyst – Global Credit Trading
Global Credit Trading (GCT) in Deutsche Bank Encompasses Global Credit Derivatives, Investment Grade Credit Trading, Structured Finance, Structured Capital Markets and Principal Finance businesses.
Deutsche Bank’s Investment Grade Credit Trading acts as market makers for clients in cash bonds, credit derivatives, as well as index and index options. Primary responsibilities include market making, risk management, PnL/Risk review and sign-off, marking/pricing, managing client inquiry (both electronic and sales originated), creating trade ideas to manage inventory, as well as hedging through various instruments, including treasuries, interest rate swaps, equities, etc. Electronic Trading of cash bonds has become a key strategy for the business, and we now offer around the clock trading of US Corporates.
Background
The ideal candidate needs to have around 1-2 yrs credit research work experience, know how to model spreads and be able to write up research notes for traders. This role will suit someone who is very ambitious, willing to learn at a high pace and already has some experience in Credit analysis.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities would include
- Creating and maintaining financial models which include a forwardable one pager with summary financials and qualitative information
- Creating and maintaining financial comparison tables and relevant valuation metrics
- Writing updates on the companies following listening to earnings calls or other events
- Formulate a view based on the modeling. Articulate the view in person/on paper. Update financial models.
- Prepare presentations for senior members of the team related to industry updates.
Maintain group databases on spread information and industry data - Over time develop an understanding of relative value and assist with credit picks.
Professional and personal qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in specifically in Credit analysis.
- Series 7 / 63
- Be diligent, efficient and able to manage multiple conflicting deliverables including working under pressure;
- Understand and act as client relation manager with internal clients;
- Strong interpersonal/communication, planning and organizational skills;
- Be able to escalate issues and keep managers and peers well informed on an ongoing basis;
- Question existing procedures, being able to point out weaknesses and suggest improvements challenging the status quo as necessary;
- Willing to take on challenging tasks.
