Fundraising Manager, Seeing is Believing recruitment
A key role as part of Standard Chartered’s Group Sustainability team to assist in fundraising for the Bank’s flagship Community Investment programme, Seeing is Believing (“SiB”). The purpose of the role is to drive the fundraising in order to achieve a recently announced public commitment (to raise USD 100million by 2020). Funds raised go towards tackling avoidable blindness. Working with the Bank’s fundraising teams to develop a more diversified fundraising portfolio; develop and nurture major donor relationships to increase funding from these important stakeholders; leverage sponsorships to maximise fundraising potential.
Key Roles Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive fund raising strategy for the next phase of Seeing is Believing to ensure delivery of fund raising targets in a timely manner
2. Review current fundraising streams – conduct full analysis of what works / what doesn’t
3. Work with business units to develop, pilot and implement business-led fundraising initiatives
4. Solidify current global fundraising initiatives to ensure maximum fundraising is achieved as well as other benefits (e.g. good internal / external communications)
5. Establish systems across the network to share best practice
6. Work with the SiB Finance Manager to develop a more robust set of fundraising guidelines as part of the financial controls policy
7. Act as the first point of contact for proposed fundraising initiatives for both the businesses (Wholesale Banking and Consumer Banking) and Functions
8. Develop and implement a strategy, working with countries and Private Bank for approaching and nurturing major donor relationships
9. Work with the Sponsorship team to maximise fundraising opportunities around the Bank’s sponsorships
Qualifications Skills
1. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, preferably with a leading international NGO
2. Experience of managing major donor/s is preferred
3. Good understanding of how the Bank operates globally, including structure and processes
4. Knowledge of Community Investment programmes
5. Strong communication / people skills
6. Uses knowledge, communication and relationship skills to positively influence key business decisions
7. Self motivated and well organised
8. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
9. Highly professional (particularly in reference to the major donor relationship management)
10. Strong project management skills
11. Ability to understand, anticipate and respond to the needs of different stakeholders
12. Understanding of fundraising in a business environment
