Futures Risk Manager recruitment
Phillip Futures Inc. seeks a risk manager. He or she will have responsibility for margin calls, stress testing of overall firm and specific customer positions, counterparty risk monitoring, and more as the firm grows. Phillip Futures is a clearing FCM with membership at CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX, NYSE-LIFFE, and CFE as well as some of the best access to Asian markets in the industry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Recommend pre-trade risk limits as well as post trade risk monitoring (electronic trading).
- Margin calls, margin follow-up, margin call documentation, documentation, and follow-up.
- Conduct stress testing and back testing on portfolios
- Recommend counterparty credit risk limits and monitor counterparties via credit rating, stock price, and other tools.
Background/Competencies
- Solid understanding of futures and commodities products including options.
- Understand futures risk daily work flow including, pre-trade controls, post trade monitoring, and margin calls.
- Holistic understanding of risks to an FCM including market risk and counterparty risk.
- Basic understanding of SPAN.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Basic understanding of statistics.
- Minimum 2 years working experience in a regulated futures firm (ideally FCM) in a risk management position.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of options trading strategies and their associated risk a plus.
- Securities and/or forex experience a plus.
- Prefer bachelor degree, with preference for a science, engineering or mathematical degree
- Trading experience may be beneficial but is NOT a replacement for the other requirements.
- Necessary traits: Absolute integrity, strong sense of ownership, detail oriented, solid communication skills, ability to reflect and learn from mistakes, and willingness to learn and grow with the company.
