The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic position for a highly skilled Java Programmer who has a very low level of understanding of programming server side Java and a passion for developing and delivering high quality software. You will join a highly successful Automated/Algo Trading FX Cash Desk that is located in London. You will join a team of Traders, Developers Quants who work collaboratively and sit alongside each other; designing, developing and implementing High Frequency FX Trading strategies. The calibre of programming skills with the team is exceptional, they will be looking for someone who is very driven and who will raise the bar of quality within the group. As a Java programmer you will be able to talk in detail about the language, but also be diverse and flexible in your out look and have a natural interest in other technologies.
As part of the core Algo Trading systems team you will need to demonstrate solid mathematical skills, as well as a keen interest and understanding of algorithmic behaviour. You will also need to have demonstrable experience of developing highly concurrent applications for a high volume business. Prior E-Trading or Algo Trading is useful but not essential, just a keen interest and passion for developing high performance, bleeding edge software solutions in core Java. You will be expected to work independently as well as team, and be able to hold an opinion within design meetings and discussions, be innovative as well as pragmatic. Strong academic record of a min 2:1 in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Engineering or similar is essential.
