FX Financial Controller

An outstanding opportunity has arisen at a global commodities trading business for a Financial Controller in FX. This was only recently created and will provide the individual with an excellent opportunity to help drive develop a new business at an early stage.

The FX arbitrage trading division is a team of traders across Europe and Asia trades financial products such as FX, currency options, interest rate swaps, swaptions and bond futures. It is also looking to incorporate more debt and credit based products in the medium term.

You will also facilitate the FX hedging activity for the Group.

Key responsibilities include:

Oversee the day to day management of the two direct reports
· Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of the statutory and management results and monthly financial statements.

· Handle tax planning, budgeting and external financial audits in coordination with the business managers, the Global controller, the regional CFO and the Group's head office for the FX arbitrage division.

· Manage the financial, accounting and control functions for the FX arbitrage business

· Be responsible for the cash flow hedge accounting across the Group for FX and Interest Rate Swaps.

· Identify control weakness and efficiency opportunities and recommend improvements around the existing processes.

· Work on various ongoing FX projects

· Become knowledgeable of the Group's accounting, treasury and risk policy procedures. Ensure compliance. Recommend improvements, as necessary.

· Contribute to the overall process improvement and implementation of trading, accounting and treasury software applications.

· Manage and develop the skills of the team

The successful candidate will need to be

ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified (or overseas equivalent)
Experienced in an Investment Bank or Commodities Trading House
Good understating of FX / Hedging
Experience of managing/leading a team preferable
