Description
This role will be a part of the FXMM Operations team responsible for processing Foreign Exchange Money Market trades for RBS Global Banking Markets. The team supports RBS entities like RBS PLC London, RBS NV Amsterdam as well as the various entities across Asia of both PLC and NV. The team performs functions like trade confirmation, trade settlements, reconciliations and payments.
Confirmation
- Monitor and investigate unmatched trades confirmed via swift and/or through confirmations matching systems
- Reconciliation of trade details against brokers’ confirmation other hardcopy confirmations
- Investigate on the discrepancies and exceptions when required
- Performing phone confirmation with external counterparties and clients
- Monitoring the status of unconfirmed trades and escalates when required
- Liaising with the Middle Office and Front Office on a regular basis on trade discrepancies
Settlements
- Monitor the Settlements Queues in the back office system - Wallstreet for exceptions and perform investigations to resolve these exceptions
- Process Non Deliverable Forwards closeout
- Process option trades; including settlement and reconciliations
- Perform Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) Processing. Identify and investigate on unmatched or alleged trades in CLS client. Ensure funding to CLS third Parties are in order
Control Client Service
- Sourcing Standard Settlements Instructions from counterparties and clients to improve the STP rates
- Collation of Management Information (MI) on various processes so as to help to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Providing good service and demonstrate client orientation to both external and internal clients
- As a member of this team, you will be required to ensure that the business area conducts its activity in accordance with all relevant RBS GBM policies
- Ensure compliance with the regulatory and statutory requirements and RBS GBM Compliance policies and procedures affecting the business area
- Report any breaches of regulations to Legal and Compliance
- Ensure that the business unit operates in accordance with stipulated risk management policies and procedures covering market risk, credit risk and operational risk
- Ensure that failures and shortcomings in policies and procedures are reported
Essential Experience
- At least 5 years of experience working in Operations, of which 2-3 years are in a supervisory capacity
- Advanced knowledge of the Foreign Exchange Money Markets and the client base for these products
Technical knowledge
- Experience in the usage of systems like CLS, Wallstreet and SWIFT will be an advantage.
- Understanding of Financial Products
- Strong IT skills
- Language skills such as Japanese will be an advantage, but not essential
