Thermal energy supply chain (TESC) is a proprietary trader and merchandiser of coal, power, gas, carbon emissions certificates, and their related derivatives. We have trading offices in Geneva and London.
TESC has a rapidly expanding portfolio of end-user clients within Continental Europe. The commercial team offers industrial clients tailor-made energy management solutions which have led to the requirement for a dedicated operation assistant within the finance team.
Your Job
As part of the Finance team you support and maintain the operation of the gas business ● You ensure a proper link/smooth process of financial data between grid suppliers and industrial customers (Benelux, Germany, Eastern Europe) ● You work closely with the trading and accounting team in Geneva and you are part of the operation team in Mechelen ● You report to the Accounting Manager.
Major Tasks:
- Take responsibility for all aspects of grid supply reconciliation and monitoring.
- Take responsibility for gas consumption data collection and control. Use of the back office report and tools to accurately record the consumption data.
- Monitor Accounts Payable (AP) related to grid supply in daily collaboration with Geneva finance team.
- Provide reports/ad hoc information to BU management and commercial team related to grid payments.
- Ensure commercial system is updated with all fees and volumes and check integrity between commercial system and accounting system.
You will be travelling to Geneva maximum 10 % of your working time.
Your Profile
- Preferably minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable.
- Strong skills on MS Office.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards.
- Fluency in English and German.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Fast learning and self-development: curiosity to learn.
- High energy levels. Action oriented. Willing to take responsibility and initiative.
- Able to proactively identify and resolve problems.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Flexibility; able to cope with fast changes within a growing company.
