The Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS) group is seeking a UNIX Administrator to provide direct on-site engineering support for Air Combat Command (ACC), Langley AFB, VA

The UNIX Administrator will perform GCCS and other C2 software installations, system administration and system engineering duties. Typical duties include:

Establish user profiles, provide network security, provide training to system administrators, and administer, test, and evaluate new products and segments.

Provide technical support for the Defense Information Infrastructure Common Operating Environment (DII-COE), GCCS, and Common Operational Picture (COP) during real world taskings and simulated testing/exercise scenarios.

Responsibility for the administration of UNIX servers/networks include: identify operational requirements and develop application software baselines for server equipment and end user workstations; build base servers and end user workstations; identify, install, configure, and upgrade required software applications; perform system backups and restorations; monitor and optimize system performance; and respond to customer service trouble tickets and network outages.

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in a technical discipline; Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

5+ years experience as a Solaris Systems administrator to include:

o Solaris 10

o Sun midrange servers and storage arrays -Enclave design and installation -System installation and configuration

o NIS+

o Baseline development, maintenance, documentation, problem solving, and resolution

o Strong network/application troubleshooting skills

Secret Security Clearance
