Description

The BDS Product Manager is primarily responsible for managing and directing the development of BDS global collateral management and/or clearing products by running and coordinating business and client projects for assisgned location(s). The BDS Product Manager requires a good understanding of the Broker Dealer business, the financial industry in general, the changing regulatory environment especially of the debt equity markets in order to articulate where new opportunities exist. Responsible for understanding the different financial markets products that our clients participate in having the ability to design structures processes that will create innovative value added services that enable them to scale their business. Post holder should have the ability to recognise new opportunities as well as subtle points of difference relative to the competition the ability to effectively communicate this internally to clients. Understands internal and external regulatory compliance issues as well as understanding profitability modeling. Executes on the strategic direction of the business At this level, the incumbant is comfortable in the role able to primarily function independently with intermittent direction. Must be able collaborate effectively with multiple partners, including Technology, Legal any relevant party in order to understand the solutions needed to achieve our business plans strategy. Will be expected to document, implement communicate new services enhancements into the organisation. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for assigned product (s)/ project(s) with RM's Sales Reps and on client calls, as well as in other forums. Incumbent must have strong interpersonal commercial skills. Will be required to recognise new opportunities provide integrated product solutions to clients wherever possible. To develop a keen understanding of a clients strategic needs then design proactive solutions to address those needs. Good knowledge of BDS market products and services and profitability modeling required. Incumbent must employ various innovative strategies that promote the full range of BDS products / services through close collaboration with Technology, Legal any other relevant parties. Role will involve assisting in setting a vision a direction for the assigned product (s) /project(s) a strategy for achieving overall business goals. Therefore post holder must have the ability to easily translate technical knowledge into new market and / or product contexts. Must be capable of strategic thinking. The role is key to the business's ability to maintain, develop create new BDS products. Must have ability to work independently towards long term goals a desire for excellence at all times with a clear sense of personal responsibility. Will need to demonstrate that they can work self sufficiently with both internal external stakeholders. The role will require engagement with a broad cross section of the organisation - senior management, client sector management, relationship management, service delivery sales. Effective external engagement with senior level clients prospects is essential in order to fully understand their products, then design innovative value adding solutions which solve client problems.

Qualifications

Good interpersonal skills cultural appreciation required. Minimum Education: College Degree Preferred. Preferred Education: MBA. Minimum Experience: 10 yrs in the Securities Servicing Industry including 2-3 yrs experience with Broker Dealer Services. Preferred Experience: 11+years in the Securities Servicing industry including 5 plus years experience in Broker Dealer Services.
