GE Appliances Lead Supplier Quality Engineer - Metals Job
This Lead Supplier Quality Engineer-Metals will lead the improvement of existing supplier processes; continually bettering quality of service and value-add to GE s manufacturing. They will manage the certification and launch of new manufacturing processes within the supply base, ensuring that all New Product Implementations meet expectations for quality and delivery. Essential Responsibilities * Own all aspects of supplier relationships that impact Cost of Quality (COQ) to GE Appliances for suppliers of Metal components. This includes initial selection and qualification of suppliers, continuous ownership and development throughout the life-cycle of the supplier and cross-functional support for all related programs. * Lead supplier and part qualifications for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs ensuring on schedule delivery with perfect quality. * Deliver on Material Cost Takeout (MCTO) productivity goals by leading and supporting projects involving supplier moves and process, material or design changes. * Drive permanent resolution of manufacturing issues and consumer issues caused by supplier defects. * Develop plans to fix or exit problematic suppliers by implementing robust corrective actions or qualifying alternate suppliers. * Use Lean Six Sigma to implement projects improving customer satisfaction while eliminating waste. * Champion the use of quality tools, metrics and data to identify and drive quality improvement projects across all suppliers resulting in the overall improvement of supplier value to GE Appliances. * Team with Metals purchasing team to develop and implement commodity and supplier strategies to deliver long-term excellence in cost, quality and delivery. Qualifications/Requirements: * Engineering or Technical (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) degree or equivalent technical experience * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally * Minimum 3 years Supply Chain, Quality and/or Technical experience in manufacturing environment * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Strong problem solving, analytical and collaborative skills Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
