Role Summary/Purpose
Provide leadership, coaching, lean continuous quality cultural development and root cause analysis based technical support to a GE Appliances, dishwasher, 3rd shift high Maintenance team. Champion Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs. Internal title: Facilities Area Business Leader / Engineer 3rd shift
Essential Responsibilities
•Supervises Union General and Skilled trade maintenance staff by determining workloads and prioritizing unscheduled repairs; develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures; evaluates staff and makes hiring and termination recommendations and addresses subordinate complaints as measured by the ICSI, labor utilization and merit programs •Ensures that staff is trained in complex maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures as measured by skill assessments and work order audits. Strong PLC/electrical troubleshooting skills required. •Approves and initiates requisitions for materials and supplies within approve spending limit; participates in developing budget for assigned areas as measured by variance to budget •Develops and implements preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance programs (PdM) for the assigned area and uses Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to prepare reports and analysis to identify trends and takes appropriate corrective action and/or makes recommendations as measured by PM / PDM compliance and equipment uptime •Coordinates all maintenance activities in the assigned area with other departments to ensure company objectives are being met as measured by division key performance indicators •Ensures compliance with local, state and federal codes related to safe maintenance work practices as measured through internal department compliance audits and safety records •Responds to emergencies as requested; coordinates activities with other responders; directs the work of staff and utilization of resources to make the necessary repair in a cost-effective and timely manner •May perform a variety of other related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
•Technical Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience including military as well as graduation from an accredited senior high school or GED equivalent•Minimum 5 years experience in operation and maintenance of a high volume manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of experience•Minimum2 years experience in the supervision of Union Maintenance employees•Ability to lead and influence a team of skilled maintenance employees•Working knowledge in software packages used for Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, PM, PdM and general packages such as MS Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel) and Email•Familiar with OSHA and EPA Requirements related to maintenance•Strong multi-level verbal and written communication skills•Strong team approach to management•Working Knowledge of principles involving mechanical and electrical design, maintenance and repair fundamentals of automated industrial production equipment. •Working knowledge of reporting methods and tools for tracking and managing key performance metrics- Position supports 24/7 manufacturing facilities. Occasional off shift, on call and weekend work may be required.
