JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: General Accounting Manager Oracle Facilitator
Location: Chicago
Status: Full Time/Permanent
Summary:
To assume a leadership role in driving the process of facilitating and improving Accounting‘s processes on Oracle and develop and implement new global standards and policies required as a result of having a global general ledger.
RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Identify, analyze and resolve issues and areas for improvement in the application of Oracle to accounting functions.
- Represent Accounting in meetings between Accounting and IT Application Support for the purpose of formulating solutions and making decisions concerning the interface between Oracle and Accounting.
- Responsible for the Oracle System Monthly Close Functions; This will entail ensuring all of the modules are closed and that there are no unprocessed or draft journal entries.
- Working with FIS and Application Support to correct or improve issues Accounting is having with Oracle or the F10 process
- Attending Oracle Training as needed in order to benefit the department.
- Be the primary person responsible for the morning error handling process.
- Maintain grouping files.
- Maintain Master Coda to Oracle Mapping File that is currently used in production.
- Work on projects from other departments that affect how data comes into Oracle from the F10 or potentially other sources (i.e. Global Multiple or ICE Europe).
- Manage the General Accounting department in Finance.
- Review and sign off on all balance sheet reconciliations related to general accounting on a monthly basis.
- Manage the intercompany process including reviewing and signing off on all related reconciliations.
- Be the Fixed Asset super user in Oracle. Be responsible for the maintenance of this module and be the point person for questions about concerning these items.
- Ensure the monthly Operating Expense File and Professional Fee files are done timely and accurately as part of the close process.
- Be the Oracle Power User for Accounts Payable and General Accounting (specifically, the modules for A/P, Fixed Assets and AGIS).
REQUIREMENTS:
Accounting or Finance degree required;
5-10 years of experience;
Oracle experience;
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Miscrosoft Excel, Lotus Notes, Oracle and Coda.
WORKS CLOSELY WITH: All Accounting Personnel (local and global), FIS and IT Application Support
