GENERAL INSPECTOR

Primary Job Responsibilities Great opportunity for an General Inspector to work on Healthcare/ Laboratory project in Baltimore, Maryland. Candidate will inspect general work on a significant multiple building campus healthcare/lab facility construction project. Prepare comprehensive daily reports indicating observations of work performed each day. Assist Project Manager in evaluating change order proposals. Review design progress submissions for constructability and conformance to the contract requirements. Review contractor submittals for compliance with submission requirements and client needs. Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with Client and Contractor/Subcontractors in assuring work conforms with contract and proactively resolving problems is required. Assist general and other inspectors in inspection of architectural and general works. Training and Experience A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Engineering or an Associates degree with a minimum of 10 years of construction inspection experience . Prefer a minimum of 5 years working as Architectural/General Inspector on Laboratory/Healthcare construction projects. Candidate must have good communication skills and collaborative approach working with both Client and construction contractor/subcontractors. Ideal candidate will have Quality Assurance/Control facility construction experience with heavy emphasis on energy upgrades, LEEDS certifications and HVAC system installation. Architectural/general installations with experience with change orders and overall involvement with design / construction process helpful. Willing to trade some experience for degree. Ideal candidate will have energy modernization construction experience. Other Essential Functions Candidate must have ability to work in a construction field environment. Ability to walk throughout the construction jobsite for at least half of the day is mandatory; candidate must also be able to climb stairs and ladders and carry approximately 20 pounds for distances of greater than 250 feet. Position requires that candidate work in the field environment during construction with no climate control; it is anticipated that temperatures will sometimes be extreme. Other Requirements
