General Manager - Chichester, NH - 08231 Description The Site Manager's primary duty is management of the profit center(s) to which s/he is assigned. To this end, the Site Manager will regularly direct the work of at least two or more other full-time Hess employees or their equivalent, and will have the authority to hire and/or fire subordinate employees. The Site Manager's suggestions and recommendations as to the advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employees will be given particular weight. Qualifications I ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS A. Must be able to perform principle duties of the job. B. Must possess good oral communication skills. C. Ability to perform basic math functions. D. Ability to stand and/or walk for at least eight hours per day. E. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 5-10 pounds continuously (approx. 20 times per day). F. Ability to lift and/or carry 20-25 pounds frequently (approx. 10 times per day). G. Ability to lift and/or carry 40 pounds occasionally (5 times per day). H. Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel and/or crouch during shift. I. Ability to climb ladder/stairs. J. Ability to work with arms bent all day. K. Ability to grasp and move objects w/ hands, requiring eye-hand coordination. L. Ability to work in extreme, intermittent temperatures; i.e. outside, cooler, etc? M. Ability to work with minimal supervision. N. Ability to operate equipment including but not limited to lottery machine, cash register, soda/coffee/credit card machine. O. Basic to intermediate management and supervisory skills required II PRINCIPAL DUTIES include but are not limited to: A. Responsible for overall management of the site. B. Responsible for directing the work of at least two or more other full-time Hess employees or their equivalent. C. Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, training, disciplining and firing of employees and senior hourly staff. D. Prepares schedule for site; responsible for apportioning work among the hourly staff. E. Responsible for maintaining sales records for use in supervision or control of the site. F. Appraises staff members productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions, increased compensation, or other changes in status. G. Responsible for handling employee complaints and grievances. H. Responsible for planning employees work and determining the techniques to be used. I. Responsible for controlling the flow and distribution of merchandise and supplies, including product ordering and vendor relations. J. Responsible for proper merchandising. K. Ensures facility is secure and safe for staff and customers; ensures compliance with all AHC safety and environmental guidelines. L. Ensures procedures are implemented and adhered to protecting company assets. M. Responsible for monitoring or implementing legal compliance measures, including site auditing/inspections. N. Responsible for planning and controlling the budget. O. Responsible for site planning/business planning to maximize profit. P. Analyzes profit and loss statements. Q. Troubleshoots/provides maintenance when necessary. R. Reports competitive price checks as required. S. Ensures exemplary customer service is provided; resolves complaints when necessary. T. Ensures entire staff adheres to all Hess cash control policies. U. Ensures entire staff complies with Hess grooming standards. V. Promotes "Fast, Fun, Food Family" environment. W. Required to be open to perform other duties at the discretion of Hess Management.
