GENERAL MANAGER

Executrade is proud to partner with a very well respected, long term player in the industrial industry in Alberta. Our client seeks an experienced General Manager to start up its' open shop contracting division. We require someone who can build his/her team, set up and start the office and successfully bid on new projects!
Responsibilities for the chosen candidate will include the following:
- Providing leadership and direction to the organization and entire team
- Attracting, motivating and retaining a top caliber management team
- Increasing profitability for the business in Western Canada by focusing on sales and marketing, identifying new customers in the market and by increasing company visibility
- Exploring further geographic and market opportunities
- Ensuring systems, procedures and processes are effective, efficient and support the organization
- Provide accurate, relevant and timely financial reporting
Qualifications to be considered for this role include the following:
- Proven successful track record, preferably in the specialty trade contracting business or in project management of 10 years+
- Past experience starting up a company division, or department an asset
- Experience working on projects in the petrochemical, hydrocarbon or LNG sectors an asset
- A technical or engineering degree an asset
- Superb business acumen a must for this role
- In addition to having full PL responsibility in past roles, candidates must provide example and proof that they have been responsible for significant growth with either previous or existing companies
- Well developed management skills combined with the ability to build strong customer relationships
- Able to travel as required, both in Alberta and into the US
