Chase Paymentech Solutions (CPS) is a business within JPMorgan Chase and operates under the Card, Merchant Services and Auto Finance organization. They are a global leader in payment processing and merchant acquiring. The company's proprietary platforms enable access to a variety of payment methods, such as credit and debit cards, prepaid store value cards and electric check processing. With a legacy of innovation and vision in electronic payments, CPS promotes the growth of e-commerce worldwide. The company is integral in the success of the Internets largest players, currently processing more than half of all internet transactions.
Over the past few years, CPS has experienced superb growth and has launched a number of products, services and solutions into the marketplace, while developing strategic partnerships to support their expansion within key market segments.
CPS is now ready to expand into the Asia Pacific market and is seeking to build a small team to lead this effort.
Position Description
CPS is currently searching for a General Manager to be based in Hong Kong and report to the head of CPS International business for Canada and the Asia Pacific region. This role will have accountability for the execution of a strategic vision which will firmly establish and reinforce Chase Paymentechs's visibility, product recognition, and reputation for excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
The General Manager for APAC will have primary responsibility for managing the company operation for APAC, execute against the overall growth strategy, organizational leadership, financial and organizational management, external communications and marketing and sales efforts. The General Manager will be expected to :
- Lead the efforts to expand the merchant acquiring business in the APAC region.
- Focus on expanding Card Not Present (CNP) operations of US Multinationals plus capabilities to sign local CNP merchants. This will include local acquiring capabilities as well as support for local MOP's.
- Identify and analyze opportunities and issues and quickly respond to market threats or opportunities.
- Build a team of talented individuals to execute against the newly created strategy for the business.
- Provide strong leadership that will bring best practice to Chase Paymentech and orchestrate the introduction of unique capabilities into an evolving market structure.
- Be a role model and ambassador for the Chase Paymentech organization with internal Chase customers and employees.
Skills
- Job Knowledge: Deep strategy, marketing, and operations experience in the digital space with a record of successfully balancing strategic partnerships, joint ventures, major customer partnerships and multiple sales channels. A documented record of successfully guiding multiple organizations/divisions through transition from start-up through rapid growth to an industry-leading position.
- Leadership: Ability to source talent from a wide variety of venues. A sense of urgency and commitment to achieving timelines and goal achievement. Effective communication skills in a diverse global environment. Ability to communicate with and maintain the confidence of customers, partners, employees, investors and other stakeholders. The ability to create a high energy environment to which high performers gravitate.
- Strategic Vision: A forward thinking executive who stays ahead of current market information. Comfortable with articulating a value proposition and growing revenue in a market where new technologies are threatening large, established players. Able to develop and quantify the company's longer term strategic vision and near term business planning. Experience increasing brand awareness, growing market penetration and achieving product leadership in a rapid growth environment.
- Growth/Financial leadership: Experience scaling an organization with documented track record of rapid growth. Demonstrated ability to think out of the box to generate revenue growth. Holds self and team accountable.
- Decision Maker: A history of providing decisive direction with both the flexibility to adjust strategy as required and the perseverance to stay the course in order to accomplish the plan. A demonstrated penchant for creativity, innovation, and transformation.

Education Required
An undergraduate degree and a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from a top tier university preferred.
