Posted Position Title: General Manager, Engineering Tools CoE Career Level: Experienced Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment: Functional Management Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Ohio City: Cincinnati Postal Code: 45215-1988 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: The General Manager, Engineering Tools CoE will direct a cross-functional, cross-business organization that provides a unique blend of resources with engineering and IT skill sets to ensure we are providing contemporary tool sets, analysis models and information technologies to GEs engineers in the Energy, Aviation and Transportation businesses. This ETCoE is made up of nearly 550 employees globally, with 215 located domestically in the United States. In this role, you will: Essential Responsibilities - Develop new engineering tools to enable annual productivity and improve analytical accuracy for GE Aviation, Energy and Transportation businesses - Lead and oversee quality engineering and IT design, execution, and product safety for the Engineering Tools CoE that provides support to Energy, Aviation and Transportation - Lead and oversee organizations responsible for component level and system level analytics, Services Engineering, web-based engineering technologies, CAD and PLM systems, and DFSS technologies across multiple businesses - Lead overall operations management of engineering IT technologies and software including PA for major software packages, maintenance and sustaining costs of software, and the negotiated purchase of new software to meet business needs - Serve as key member of the Engineering Division staff for the various businesses (Engineering CIO), providing guidance, leadership, mentoring and intervention, as necessary, to strengthen the discipline, quality, reliability and rigor of our engineering analytical tools - Provide leadership with high integrity and oversight of processes protecting Intellectual Property, Export Controlled and Strategic Technology - Ensure a rigorous process is followed in the execution of software development across the engineering businesses including Agile methodologies - Drive technology synergies and integration across the company including Global Research Center - Provide Competitive Assessment regarding the business / products and Acquisition Evaluation support - Serve as technical expert in the GE community through demonstrated technical accomplishments including holding patents, component design and systems design experience, and strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college - Minimum of 8 years of technical leadership experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
