This is an exciting opportunity within an organization with new roles and structure in a recently renovated facility. To ensure that we offer the highest standard of care in our programs, Perram House seeks a General Manager.

Perram House is a Residential Hospice providing end-of life-care in Toronto. Patient-centric palliative care is delivered to individuals who have a limited life expectancy. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of care professionals, all of whom specialize in palliative care. This program includes: nursing, personal support, psychosocial and spiritual care placing the resident in control of her or his life.

Perram House Hospice is currently looking to hire a fulltime General Manager

Position Name: General Manager

Reports to:   Perram House Board of Directors

Purposes:    To provide leadership and management for the operation of Perram House.

Position Summary:

·         Provide leadership, oversight and management to all non clinical staff

·         Assume responsibility for all non clinical, supplies and facilities, operation and maintenance

Specific Responsibilities

Management

·         Recruit and manage staff required for the operation of Perram House

·         Conduct regular reviews and appraisal appropriate to the proper administration of personnel with consideration to personnel performance and job satisfaction.

·         Develop and maintain effective lines of communication with all staff and volunteers

Finances

·         Support the development of and adherence to Perram Houses’ operating budget.

·         Review and approve all presented invoices.

Facilities

·         Ensure the maintenance and management of the buildings and grounds

·         Ensure that the facility is cleaned and maintained at a level appropriate to the program being delivered within it.

Donation Management

·         Liaise with donors, ensuring appropriate and meaningful recognition and expressions of appreciation are provided to all donors.

·         Engagement with event primes to ensure that front end processes are established to represent the interests of Perram House to the highest standards possible.

·         Auditing the issuance of tax receipts, ensuring that they are issued in a timely and appropriate manner.

Information Technology (IT)

·          Facilitate and coordinate communication between in house users and the various suppliers of technology, communication and technical infrastructure.

·         Provide administrative support for internal systems, managing access and administering appropriate aspects of the systems

Administration

·          Ensure that all policies and procedures are appropriately created, maintained, well documented, communicated to staff and volunteers, being applied to the extent reasonably possible.

·         Attend monthly board meetings to

o    Report on monthly activity, and issues,

o    Present proposals related to the operation of Perram House which require funding commitments by the board

o    Delivering performance reports

·         Liaise with other facilities in a perpetual search for best practices which might enhance the quality of program delivery at Perram House
