General Manager, Research recruitment
The successful incumbent will be responsible for develop summary of Indian Agriculture covering major developments and changes across main commodities.
- Production updates
- Major government policy changes / announcements
- Industry economics and market structure
- Weather developments and impact on production
- Domestic demand updates
- Export / Import line-ups and sales / purchase commitments
- Outline all balance sheet changes
- Develop and maintain industry contacts and information flows.
Responsibilities:
- To maintain supply and demand data set by updating historical figures and revising forecasts based on proactive discussion with traders and external sources
- The role will involve collaboration with other researchers as well as traders to develop and improve supply and demand analysis.
- Daily responsibilities may include analyzing trade flows, building and maintaining data sets to analyzing data and communicate findings to rest of the group effectively through written and verbal means.
- To check the integrity of the regional supply and demand assumptions. As a research analyst, being able to obtain information from different sources, apply critical reasoning to evaluate importance of each source, and use different sources to double-check supply and demand assumptions from different angles.
- Coordinate all changes to Global Headquarters, meeting weekly timeline for dissemination of global grids. Analyst will be responsible for making sure all grids are in agreement with company globally.
- Develop format, collect and maintain database for cost of production for various crops and forecast cropping pattern changes
- Estimate domestic demand for various commodities, coordinate with global research team
- Major commodities would include Rice, Wheat, Pluses, Coarse Grains, Oilseeds, Cotton and Sugarcane.
- Lead and Manage India sugar research team
- Develop an effective network within company research space across the company globally.
- Manage internal and external customer relationships – Develop relationships with government bodies, Industry Associations and research agencies
Requirements:
- Graduate in Agriculture preferably with a Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture Business Management
- Should have a minimum of 10 – 12 years of experience in Agriculture research out of which at least 2 – 3 years as head of research for medium to large size organization in India.
- Intellectually curious, creative and analytical.
- In addition to being passionate about markets and interested in the research process, analysts should possess solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates in Agri Commodity / Fertilizer companies having experience in Agriculture Commodity Supply Demand estimation, Commodity Research and Price Forecasting, Fundamental Analysis, Statistical Modelling, Econometric Analysis, Price Driver Analysis, Spend Management highly preferred.
