Geographic Technician Job in Beverley, Yorkshire Uk

Geographic Technician, Nationwide

Don’t just learn a trade – get paid for it. There’s an Army job and training waiting for you right now.

You’ll be performing a vital support role, giving commanders the essential information they need about their surroundings to plan successful missions. That means getting data from a variety of sources and analysing the combat terrain with our advanced IT systems.

You can be male or female, as long as you’re aged between 16 and 32 and physically fit. You’ll have at least three GCSEs [including English and Maths] at Grade C or above under your belt. The kind of things that will interest you could be anything from computing, photography and driving to fixing things and being outdoors. Any relevant experience you can bring to the table [for example, IT, technical drawing, surveying or driving] would be useful. Our training will do the rest.

We’ll teach you how to use our top-end IT kit to collect and analyse geographic data, perform GPS tracking and use terrestrial surveying equipment, as well as providing basic training in soldiering skills. There are formal qualifications you can gain too.
