Job Description There is an opportunity for a highly motivated mid-level Geologist or Hydrogeologist to work in our Anchorage, Alaska office. Job responsibilities include collecting and evaluating geologic/hydrogeologic data in both field and office settings and working with clients to identify needs and solutions. Environmental field work includes drilling, well installation, aquifer testing, and environmental sampling. Field assignments could involve travel for up to 4 weeks at a time. The position involves preparation of work plans, cost estimates, data compilation/analysis, and reports (text, tables, figures, and calculations). The candidate will perform independent hands-on fieldwork, lead field teams, oversee work by subcontractors, and interact with clients. This position requires excellent skills in written and spoken communications, organization, and time management. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn new skills, and a commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. The successful candidate will have a B.S. degree or higher in geology or hydrogeology. Ideally, the candidate will have 6 to 8 years of experience in the industry and either be a registered professional geologist or be working towards registration. The position requires the candidate to have excellent and efficient writing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Candidate must be able to pass requirements of an OSHA screening physical. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is highly desirable.
