Purpose: The primary focus for this role is to provide seismic data management support and assistance to exploration, development and production geoscience teams to assist them in meeting critical business goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be a part of the Subsurface Data Management Team and will assume a key role in meeting business requirements and expectations in the space of technical data management. Key Dimensions: bull; Liaise with the business, peers and leadership team to define, document, implement and enforce policies, procedures and standards for seismic data, data management, data loading, capacity management and quality assurance bull; Drive data loading, validation and quality assurance processes to ensure the best data sets are available for technical users bull; Drive improvement in user capabilities around seismic and well data by interfacing with geoscientists, engineers, peers and software vendors to resolve data issues, optimize workflows and improve integration with 3rd party software packages bull; Work collaboratively with Subsurface Computing leadership and peers to ensure "best practices" for seismic data management are being leveraged across the company bull; Plan, lead and deliver significant portions of projects, fully integrated with the work of peers or team members in other disciplines or functions bull; Is a key contributor in meeting business requirements bull; Is sought out by peers and management as a source of IM expertise bull; Lead and contribute to peer reviews bull; Provide advice to management on direction of work, cost, time, resources and the need for input from other disciplines or function areas Mentor junior team members on best in class methodology Key Relationships: bull; Subsurface Data Management Supervisor bull; Subsurface Computing Supervisor bull; Subsurface Data Team bull; Subsurface Applications Team bull; Petroleum IT Leadership Team bull; GG Subsurface Technical User Community bull; Exploration, Development and Production Geoscience Section Leads bull; Software Vendors Core Accountabilities bull; Responsible for all aspects of seismic data management to include defining, documenting and enforcing standards and workflows for loading, managing and archiving seismic data bull; Responsible for driving and delivering top-tier 2D 3D seismic data management, analysis, loading, scaling, balancing and archival support bull; Serve as primary contact for all seismic projects and data related issues and promptly resolve all matters so as to maintain availability, integrity and quality of the seismic data within our technical computing environment bull; Provide technical data management support for data acquisitions, trades, farm-ins and other business driven projects. bull; Liaise with business teams, peers, seismic vendors and partner companies to ensure business goals and requirements are being met bull; Assume leadership role in evaluating and recommending new seismic data management utilities and software with a goal of optimizing seismic data management processes, improving business workflows and reducing seismic data cradle to grave life cycle times bull; Provide end user support for the Landmark interpretation suite of applications, Petrel and other 3rd party applications as well bull; Lead special projects as defined by the subsurface leadership team bull; Provide backup support for Landmark OpenWorks administration Mentor contract staff and new hires on our company standards for seismic data and seismic data management Qualification, Experience Technical Competencies bull; Bachelor's degree in geoscience, petroleum engineering, computer science or other relevant discipline. bull; Minimum of 8 years recent experience in a seismic data management role providing project administration, 2D 3D seismic data analysis, loading and archival bull; Experience working with Landmark (R2003 R5000) and Petrel (2009 2010) applications including Petrel's reference to working project methodology will be highly regarded bull; Experience with Paradigm and SMT or ability to quickly learn the data management procedures used with these applications required. bull; Experience with application integration and data management technologies like OpenSpirit and ProSource would be highly regarded bull; Strong working knowledge of geodetics with ability to interrogate, resolve, transform and validate spatial reference data is required bull; Excellent knowledge and understanding of the seismic data lifecycle to include acquisition methodologies, processing workflows and basic interpretation workflows bull; Experience loading and managing geological and petrophysical data bull; Excellent analytical skills to include proficiency in the UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms bull; Excellent written and verbal communication skills bull; Excellent time and project management skills with ability to multi-task and complete projects on time
