German client manager – Institutional and Wholesale clients recruitment

This role will focus on institutional clients (and some wholesale) – you will have overall responsibility for German and Austrian clients.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:

-Attending all client meetings to discuss performance, industry and relationship issues, and where required attend with a Portfolio Manager or Product Specialist who will cover investment philosophy/process and the contributors to performance in finer detail

-Planning to meet the individual needs of the client by arranging a pre-meet with relevant individuals and ensuring high quality presentations are delivered to those attending the meetings.

-Keeping abreast of competitor activities and industry trends/issues and feed these back to colleagues

-Working alongside the Sales team and assisting with new prospects as required, which may include providing input to RFPs and the review of RFPs for quality and accuracy

-Being proactive in the client take on process, working alongside the Transitions team to assist with the negotiating and implementation of the Investment Management Agreement

-Retaining existing business and developing cross-selling opportunities with existing clients

-Continually reviewing client profitability and client risk. These areas should be continuously monitored and the appropriate profitability/retention strategies put in place.

The candidate must have at least 5 years experience in a similar role and possess a clear understanding of the investment management processes for all core investment strategies. The individual must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a flexible work attitude and the ability to multi task.

German language skills are essential.
