Position Summary This purpose of this position is to provide leadership in all store operational areas by guiding and motivating Team Members to provide safe, fast, and superior service to exceed customer expectations, stimulate the growth of business and meet or exceed store and Company goals. Job Responsibilities Create and maintain an environment where respect for self and others, and Giant Eagle safety and ethical standards are consistently practiced. Staff and maintain quality Team Members through recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating. Continue to develop all direct reports; assist in the development and evaluation of all other location Team Members. Make sure that proper safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and image standards are being maintained for the entire facility. Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and auditing functions for the entire location. In addtion, prepare all reports requested by the District Manager and Corporate Office in a timely manner. Conduct competitive fuel price surveys as required. Apply, enforce, and oversee the consistent practive of counseling and disciplinary actions for all store personnel according to Company policy and procedure. Maintain effective communication with all location Team Members, District Management, and Corporate Team Members. Maintain safe, prompt, and courteous customer service, attend to customers concerns and complaints. Consistently promote the Company culture personally and through all Team Members. Create and maintain productive relationships with applicable local, state, and federal governing agencies as required to do business (e.g. health boards, inspectors, etc.) Maintain proper and effective inventory levels in all departments by assuring effective vendor relations and proper store orders. Ensure that the facility achieves the budgeted objectives and maintains a level of profitability acceptable to management, especially concerning areas of sales, shrink, waste, cash over/short, expenses, labor, gross profit, and TSR (total store revenue). Work in conjunction with appropriate Corporate Specialists (as necessary to support store format) to evaluate all products and departments to determine the best product mix to maximize sales and profits, as well as product responsibility concerning loss prevention in all areas. Execute the overall marketing, merchandising, and promotional objectives of the facility. Report and follow through with maintenance issues to the appropriate level as necessary. Responsible for budget development, expense control and/or revenue generation for multiple departments or divisions. Responsible for direct and indirect supervision of team members in one or more departments.
