Major Duties:

The TBOC Systems Integration Modeling and Simulations Directorate provides 3d visualizations and dynamic scenarios replicating the operational environments encountered by Department of Defense personnel. These products are used throughout the individual, collective, and institutional training bases. The TBOC GIS Engineer would be responsible for providing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support and advice for application of geospatial technology to the TBOC. The incumbent will work with all TBOC divisions to coordinate and implement GIS activities, to include assisting with the development of project objectives, evaluation of adequacy of existing data sources, creation/modification of GIS coverage's, databases, analysis, and preparation of final output products.

Primary duties and responsibilities of the GIS Engineer include:
- Critically examine source documents and material for applicability in producing mapping products and updating digital databases.
- Analyze conflicting source material, overlapping spatial conflicts, verify reliability of source data, and then resolve conflicting information and produce mapping products that are appropriate for TBOC training and support uses.
- Identify requirements and implement analytical techniques necessary to solve GIS issues.
- Provide technical user support for all aspects of geo-spatial data and software.
- Create and maintain TBOC GIS server web portal.
- Create and maintain TBOC GIS individual, file, and SDE geo-databases.
- Manage TBOC SIMS C4I folders for LVC-G terrain databases.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in geography or geographic information systems.
- Experience should include five or more years experience in the field of GIS.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer literacy with Microsoft Office.
- At least 5 years of experience using ArcGIS including model builder.
- Experience with GIS metadata evaluation and editing.
- Experience with MicroSoft Visual Studio and Python programming desired. -
 Experience with CPOF, LIDAR, and ERDAS Imagine desired.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively is required (25%). Work week may include shifts and weekends.
- US Passport required.
- Secret clearance is required; Must be eligible for TS/SCI.Preferred Skills:
- Experience with operations centers, planning cells and operational planning teams desired.
 - OIF/OEF experience preferred -TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
