Role Summary/Purpose
The Platform Services Enterprise Architect will work closely with the GE business application teams on new repeatable customer facing applications to provide GIS platform solutions infrastructure services with emphasis on system architecture engineering work.
Essential Responsibilities
You will be a GIS Platform services thought leader key decision maker responsible for system engineering, application architectures, application design implementation, day-2-day service application support strategies as well as handling application escalations, technical mentoring project work.
The ideal candidate for this role will embrace the exciting blend of technical expertise, engagement ability, and leadership that is required to be successful. Specifically:
Provide solution architecture, systems engineering software engineering including application data architecture expertise
Work closely with the GE business application teams to leverage GIS standard platform services to establish base architectures to be implemented
Work closely with the application, data infrastructure architects to develop new redeploy repeatable customer solutions
Manage the project through implementation into production day-2-day operations
Provide L3/L4 application solution support
Provide technical standards including tools platforms to GE business application development teams
Advance business solutions that require interactions integrations between tools systems
Work with the development teams through the Software Development (SDLC) process
Organize the development effort of a systems solution
Work with GIS Platform Services team to Design, Architect Build new customer facing applications
Lead projects work with the GIS Platform Services team to design build a new customer facing application
Lead projects work with the GIS Platform Services team on new application implementations application support process improvements
Lead projects through GIS tollgate process
Coordinate with teams on new customer facing services
Update application operational documents
Participate in cross-functional process improvement workouts
Ensure all services are performed following GIS processes
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical field
Minimum 10 years of IT experience including senior level technical architecture design and implementation
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be willing to work from a major US GIS location

Proven ability to develop and deploy customer facing applications in a complex environment
Must be knowledgeable in leading edge technologies ( i.e. Virtualization, Cloud Computing, Security)
Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence across all levels. Ability to speak the technical language, then transition to language of business managers
Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines
Experience with middle ware application services e.g., JBoss, MQ, Appworx, WebMethods, Cognos, Informatica)
Demonstrated ability to drive projects based on business strategies and customer
Ability to lead and quickly adapt to change
Ability to work with global teams; act independently and as part of a team
Proven track record of initiating and driving actions to improve performance of IT systems
Proven ability to define business requirements and apply various technical solutions
