Global Account Manager

Reporting to the Global Account Director –, the Account Manager is at the hub of the business, responsible for developing their regional business with a select number of Global Accounts.

 

Key Functions and Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for managing the regional business of approximately five of their most important accounts. Working closely with Global Account Directors and the GSAM team, using their resource to implement growth plans, the Account Manager will have as their key areas of responsibility:

 

- Regional responsibility for named GSAM accounts

- Achievement of revenue growth targets

- Development of a keen understanding of the client’s strategies across all of its businesses, ensuring that the firm is strongly positioned to provide the highest possible levels of service, supplant competitor presence and create a growing and secure revenue base

- Provide input to and implement strategic growth plans to increase adoption, penetration and revenue of services within named accounts

- Identify innovative solutions to provide their clients with a competitive advantage

- Develop and manage key relationships with senior and/or influential contacts

 

Key aspects of the position are:

- Achieving and exceeding recurring sales and revenue targets and developing new revenue opportunities

- Developing strategies to maximise penetration of products across a variety of customer situations

- Campaign focussed selling

- Investigating the use and perception of competitor products and seeks opportunities to replace them

- Completing sales coordinating resources for pre and during sales activities

- Using effective sales plans and techniques

- Providing information/ intelligence to sales management and other relevant departments including marketing, Research and Business Development

- Is aware of the company strategy and area plans and is responsible for delivering these messages to the client

- Promoting a positive image of the firm and the sales department

- Leading commercial policy discussions and negotiating contracts

- Building effective working relationships with staff e.g. Client support, marketing, finance, legal, research and development etc

- Attending and contributing to team meetings, ensuring that knowledge is shared within the team

 

Qualifications/Experience

- It is expected that the candidate will be able to deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above. It is therefore expected that he or she will have:

- Candidate must have a strong background of the investment management business

- Senior sales experience with 5+ years in the area of financial data, investment markets or closely related areas

- Proven ability to work with clients and influencers at the most senior levels

- Experience of working with clients in the global arena

- Ability to travel and work global market hours when required

- Strong and deep knowledge of the financial markets across both buy and sell side areas with a focus on the current marketplace trends and environment

- Proven background in consultative relationship building

- Proven capability in managing complex, global sales opportunities and delivering long term, sustainable growth

- Strong organizational skills required to implement a new process that links up all activity in the account globally

- MBA, CFA a plus
