Global Asset Servicing GSI – Program Manager recruitment
Global Strategic Initiatives (GSI) is responsible for defining and executing change for Securities Banking Operations.
GSI's remit includes;
- Delivering project management, business analysis, and strategic planning services leading to improved controls and efficiencies in infrastructure and operational processes;
- Definition, and monitoring of, benefits of change, both qualitative and quantitative;
- Support for Institutional Client Group products including but not limited to: Cash Securities (Equities Fixed Income), Derivatives (OTC ETD), Foreign Exchange and other capital markets anc commercial banking products;
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- Program manager responsible for the planning and implementation of all enhancement initiatives related to UK Tax across global entities.
- This role will be required to liaise closely with Tax Operations globally, as well as peers in the GSI group and the co-managed Technology group.
- The role will report into the Global Asset Servicing GSI and Technology Lead on a day-to-day basis, with formal HR management from the regional GSI lead.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the production and management of project/workstream deliverables; scoping documents, project plans, budgets, risks issue tracker;
- Identify key project risks, whether stated or not, and manage to resolution or escalate accordingly;
- Assist in budget management, including setting project budgets and monitoring burn rates;
- Working closely with internal clients to set priorities and roadmaps for Tax projects;
- Ensure that the delivery from the workstreams/projects meets requirements and is to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the Program Plan and program governance arrangements;
- Coordinate cross business functions (e.g. Operations, Middle Office, Front Office, Technology, Compliance, Tax, Legal, Infrastructure, Finance) and senior management to execute necessary policy, process and technology change;
- Engage and manage external resources if required.
Previous Experience:
- Extensive financial services experience.
- Citi experience a plus;
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the Capital Markets tax projects (US or others);
- Demonstrated career progression, including program management (or multiple project management);
- Credible experience of successfully implemented projects in the financial services industry, preferably with capital markets operations;
Skills
- Experienced in consulting with project stakeholders, including the skills to facilitate compromises and resolve conflicting requirements. Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and foster internal relationships;
- Proven track record in delivery of multiple parallel initiatives is essential;
- Proven track record of operational process change and improvement is essential;
- Knowledge and a technical understanding of securities processing including product, process and system knowledge. Experienced with a global bank's process operational environment including management and external reporting;
- Collecting, defining and documenting business and technology requirements;
- Practical operations processing experience in multiple capital markets and commercial bank products and services;
- Experience in working across technology and business projects and managing inter-dependencies between the two;
Competencies:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions up to senior stakeholder level;
- Ability to present to senior levels of management (e.g. Director, MD);
- Ability to lead strategic planning sessions challenging the status quo where appropriate and drive decision making process;
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements;
- A good knowledge of the techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programs and resources;
- Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge;
- Ability to learn/understand some technical implications of system design;
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative;
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
