Job Title                              Global Business Change Manager - Finance

Based at                              Amsterdam

Position reports to               VP Finance.

Job Purpose Summary                     To Manage Individual Contributor with senior users reporting in as part of virtual teams on projects and major change initiatives. Cooperates within Finance and with Technology, IT Operations, and Sales/Business Operations.

1.      Objective (Description)

This role sits within the Finance Organisation of a global internet security company with subsidiaries around the world. 

The objectives stated here relate to the entire global reach of the organisation .

The Business Change Manager will support the VP Finance in identification of beneficial change to the Finance organisation especially and to the wider business where appropriate and in ensuring that business benefits are identified and realized within any business functional or technical programme of change.  He/she will also have an objective in ensuring that the defined business benefits to the Finance organisation (and to a lesser extent the wider business community) of any programme of change are measured and realized following completion of a programme of change. 

The Business Change Manager will also be goaled on seeking new and better ways to improve performance by defining ways in which Finance can work more efficiently and effectively especially by the use of business support tools such as finance systems (SAP, Cognos and any new tools that are deemed to be capable of introducing significant business benefits).

2.      Key Responsibilities/Duties

The role of the Business Change Manager is to focus on the business benefits of change and especially to instigate change to accrue business benefits.

In order to meet these responsibilities the Business Change Manager must be firmly on the Finance department side of the bridge between Finance operations (BAU) and the portfolio of programmes and projects that are instigated to bring about business benefits, whilst at the same time forming the backbone of such a bridge. The BCM will have a responsibility to form a close collaborative liaison with IT and be responsible for formulating and stating requirements on IT programmes and for representing the face of the Finance Organisation to IT.  Will be instrumental in the formulation and management of Service Level Agreements with IT.

The Business Change manager responsibilities will include the following:

•   Maintaining the focus on realising beneficial change within the Finance organisation and to an extent the wider business community

•   Ensuring development and business ownership of Benefit Profiles and Business Benefits Realisation Plan.

•   Assuring, measuring and confirming delivery of expected benefits resulting from change programmes

•   Monitoring stability and ongoing capability to cope with the levels of change during execution of change programmes.

•   Monitoring performance degradation during periods of change and ensuring this is within agreed tolerance set by the VP Finance or Finance Director as applicable.

•   Advising programme and projects managers that their respective programmes and projects adequately cover the necessary aspects to deliver products/outputs/deliverables and/or services/outcomes that will lead to the desired/required operational benefits.

•   Initiating, Identifying, Assessing and confirming the projects within the portfolio that will contribute to realisation of benefits.

•   Identifying, defining and tracking the benefits and outcomes required of projects, programmes and portfolios

•   Managing the realisation of benefits and ensuring that continued accrual of benefits can be achieved and measured after completion of programmes, by identifying and implementing the expected improvements in business operations as project deliverables migrate into operational service.

•   Implementing the mechanisms by which benefits can be realised and measured

•   Continuous and tenacious assessment of ongoing work packages (from small changes to paradigm shifting portfolio).

•   Advising portfolio programme and project managers at key points to allow decisions on progress, ensuring that business stability is maintained during transitions and that changes are effectively integrated into the business

•   Preparing the affected / impacted business area and staff for the transition to new ways of working and potentially implementing new business processes and/or flows.

•   Initiating and driving business assurance reviews to ensure that capabilities are being embedded and established

•   Optimising the timing of the release of project deliverables into business operations.

•   Monitoring expected outcomes at various stages throughout the delivery projects and programmes.

May also be asked to

•   Act as a key advisor to the VP Finance on the formulation of new programmes of Change and assisting with drafting of charters, mandates and business cases.

•   Work with the Systems Accountant to identify and assess opportunities for better use of existing systems to result in accrual of business benefits

•   Work with the Systems Accountant and Finance Director to identify issues that are impacting business performance and identify key areas for improvement via business change.

•   Work with the Systems Accountant to identify and assess key areas of risk and produce reports and recommendations for mitigation and contingency plans.

•   Participate in acquisitions and integrations.

 

3.      Experience and Expertise

The Business Change Manager will ideally have all the following expertise and experience

•   Relevant business experience in a similar environment and a similar sized organisation.

•   Qualified Accountant. MBA preferred

•   Experienced in operating a SAP solution within a global Finance organisation.

•   At least five years solid experience of working within a finance organisation of a medium to large scale enterprise, of which at least three years must have been spent with responsibilities for change associated with the use of SAP systems, ideally with SAP ECC6 FI-CO modules.

•   Extensive Project Management experience.

•   Prince 2 qualified.

•   Experience of both managing change and business as usual operational management experience.

•   Ability to rapidly assimilate management structures politics and culture of organisations ideally with experience of having done this within the framework of the introduction of a programme of change.

•   Change management skills and experience of having brought order to chaos whilst focusing on the objectives of programmes of change.

•   Management skills and experience of coordinating personnel from different disciplines and or organisational units bearing different viewpoints, perspectives and motivations.

•   Must possess core Project Management skills and have experience of leading projects to bring about business change.

•   Skills and experience in process analysis, benefits identification and assessment, modelling and analysis and business continuity management.

•   Experience of acting in a Business Change Manager role on at least one major programme of change in a multi-national organisation.

•   Must have good spoken and written English language skills and ability to write complex documents, reports and presentations in clear business English
