Overview of Division
Global Business Services (GBS) is a recently formed division that supports the management of all sales and trading (i.e. Global Markets) transactions from trade capture, settlement, reconciliation, profit and loss determination and financial accounting.
Spread across multiple product and business areas (Derivatives, Securities, Global Finance Foreign Exchange Operations, Loans, Trust and Securities, Financial Reporting as well as cross functional entities) GBS strives to do things smarter, faster and more effectively. It meets the technical and operational challenges of processing transactions worth hundreds of billions of Euros every day, across multiple time zones in all the major currencies and markets. Through GBS, we seek to grow profitability by means of efficient trade processing, offering world-class services and minimising operational and reputational risk.
Responsibilities
• Take responsibility for PnL Balance Sheet activities relating to the production of data be it onshore or offshore
• Responsible for month end close activities as part of the GFFX and Treasury business line
• Provides oversight and management of balance sheet substantiation at a secondary account ownership level
• Monitor and control accuracy and completeness of underlying data used in the Financial Statements to mitigate operational reputational risk
• Process re-engineering – continually questioning processes in an ever changing environment striving for best of breed
• Partners with strategic CTB projects and initiatives whether these are regulatory or business driven, consistently reviewing the environmental design and operational effectiveness
• Provide support for Global Markets month end close activities as part of wider team involvement
• Acts as a point of contact and escalation for engagements with the wider Finance community, taking part in key Finance interactions and leveraging the QA and Validation Control framework to minimise duplication of effort and maximise efficiencies

As a Financial Controller in this space you will be responsible for:
Financial Control Function
• Defining and implementing control procedures both onshore and offshore to ensure quality and timeliness
• Exception management and escalation of issues to senior management
• Develop and implement consistent controls and processes across business lines
• Responsible for performing and/or managing the daily deliverables
Responsible for all PnL and Balance Sheet Activities
• Ensure MAFA breaks are investigated and resolved
• Ensure all account balances are substantiated as per guidelines
• FX exposures management from both Management and Financial accounting perspectives
• Assist in issue resolution and training for offshore support staff
• Ensure all Regulatory and Head Office reporting is completed per required deadlines
• Reviews and monitors MIS of reconciliation breaks in amount and ageing to ensure all material breaks have been captured in the Financials
Responsible for month end process and Transfer Pricing process
• Perform review and approval of month end adjustments
• Develop and implement consistent Transfer Pricing controls and processes
• Reviews MAFA breaks and monitors resolution to meet ME targets
• First level of escalation for team issues and for stakeholder escalation
• Engages with CTB/SME in order to deliver change
• Deals with items escalated by team members, fixing where possible or escalating to supervisor
• Responsible for ensuring that KOPs are reviewed for relevance and effectiveness on a timely basis

• Previous experience in Investment Banking product control
• IFRS experience
