Global CCO / CRO / MLRO of Portfolio Company recruitment
Unique Opportunity
The Global CCO/CRO/MLRO will report directly to the Global CEO, will become an integral member of the Global Senior Management team and will lead the development and implementation of the compliance and anti-money laundering operations of the Portfolio Company as well as lead the development and implementation of the risk management operations.
The compliance team will be responsible for ensuring that the Portfolio Company is meeting the standards and requirements imposed by the regulatory bodies, payment networks and strategic partners. The responsibilities of the risk management team will be to fully understand the Portfolio Company’s growing customer base, manage its risk and ensure the safety and security of our systems and internal processes.
The Global CCO/CRO/MLRO will be:
- Designing, building, and implementing superior compliance and anti-money laundering operations meeting regulatory requirements, industry best practices as well as the risk management systems and processes required to conduct superior risk management and drive our investment and growth strategy and offer the level of flexibility required by our high-growth business model
- Recruiting, coaching, and managing a team of accomplished compliance and reporting specialists as well as accomplished risk management and fraud specialists
- Assuming responsibility of complete compliance and anti-money laundering requirements of all relevant stakeholders and regulatory bodies and ownership of analysis of all risks for existing and proposed business activity, within a sound risk and compliance management framework
- Constantly reviewing the effectiveness of processes, reporting mechanism, and controls to mitigate risk as well as advising the Portfolio Company on emerging trends in compliance, risk, fraud prevention, and regulatory matters
- Contributing to the Portfolio Company’s global expansion strategy
- Participating and contributing to Global Senior Management meetings
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years in a CCO/CRO/MLRO position or in a senior advisory position to CCO/CRO/MLRO with a consistent record of high level performance (of which a minimum of 3 years must be in the financial services industry)
- Relevant graduate degree at top business school and/or law school with academic excellence
- Proven track record of leadership and experience in building and leading highly successful teams
- Deep understanding of compliance requirements and risk management in the financial services industry
- Strong operational skills and capacity to build and run a compliance department and a risk management department
- Sharp analytical skills and ability to coach team to adhere to compliance best practices and to efficiently structure, analyse and validate large volumes of data to deliver valuable insights that will drive key business decisions
- Proven verbal communication ability, good presentation skills and ability to deliver confident and clear guidance and support on complex regulatory issues
- Excellent written skills, enabling communication on complex topics with global teams as well as external parties (strategic partners, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies)
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and interact with several levels of management, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, flexible, high-growth and start-up environment
- Global mind-set with ability to operate across different cultures and geographies
- Self-starter with a preference for a flat and collaborative work structure
- Strong commitment and dedication – some traveling may be required
- Fluency in English – spoken and written
