Global Corporate Controller

GLOBAL FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

My client is a successful manufacturing and distribution business who are currently looking for a Global Financial Controller to oversee the financial areas of their operations globally (UK, US and China) from their UK office in the South Derbyshire area.

Responsibilities:

Produce monthly management and financial accounts
Oversee determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
Provide strategic advice to management
Direct preparation of budgets.
Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
Direct financial planning, procurement, and investment of funds for organization.
Create internal monthly management financial report package .
Communicate on a daily basis and work collaboratively with the owners in USA.
Provide advice on internal control and participate in enhancing internal audit standards and practices within the company.
Keep up-to date with Corporate Governance practices and business issues and advise company accordingly.
Supervise UK Operations on a daily basis with periodic supervision for other entities in US and China.

Key skills and experience required:

Fully qualified Accountant with experience in a Senior Accounting role
Maximum business trips to US (4 months a year, not consecutive days) and China (once a year).
Excellent knowledge of banking/financial business operations experience with a focus on financial risk and regulatory requirements.
Excellent understanding of the standards of the UK GAAP and US GAAP.
Strong skills in negotiating, relationship building, problem solving, and timely problem escalation. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Detail oriented but able to quickly grasp the big picture.
Good presentation skills.
Fluent in Japanese, oral and written (mandatory)
Proficiency in MS office (especially excel)
