Overview:

Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) comprises three businesses: Corporate Finance, Markets and Global Transaction Banking (GTB) and includes regional coverage in the Bank's key growth areas.

Global Credit (GC) is one of the more significant businesses within Deutsche Bank's CIB. The GC business trades in multiple asset classes, and has earnt an industry reputation as a market leader in structuring solutions for clients as well as market making activities. The GC business has three major divisions - Flow Credit, Structured and Legacy. The Flow division is focused on market making activities across Investment Grade, High Yield, Distressed, and Convertibles in all major markets globally.

The CIB Finance team aligned to Global Credit is centred on the Finance Director / Finance Manager team (FDFM) which is supported by a number of specialist departments (Valuation Group, Transaction Group, Analytics and more) in performing its role as the ultimate guardian of Total Shareholder Return (TSR). The FDFM team is a small group of senior individuals (Vice President to Managing Directors) who own the relationship with Trading and Business Management for Group Finance. Beyond owning the integrity of the Financials, the FDFM team are increasingly being asked to step into a business advisory capacity in order to maximise TSR. Such advisory spans business performance monitoring and goal setting including resource usage (capital, labour).

This is a rich opportunity for an individual to progress in the firm at a relatively senior level and to make an immediate contribution while also learning the specific content knowledge and skills specific to a sales and trading business within capital markets.

Key Responsibilities:

You will provide support and recommendation to the business and senior members of Finance with regards to business performance and market landscape
You will formalise accurate budgets to help the form plans for the future
You will prepare rolling forecasts that factor in the changing regulatory and business landscape
You will put in place measures that monitor the external environment
You will make recommendations based on a course of action that will help maximize shareholder wealth
You will sign off on the accuracy of the Revenues and Balance Sheet. A prerequisite of sign off is an understanding and review of the following:
You will understand the underlying risks together with market movements such that gains and losses can be easily explained
You will ensure controls are in place from the booking of a new deal to where it is recorded in the annual report
You will validate the pricing of positions for example- are the correct prices and models in place?
You will prioritize the resources of finance and ensure results are achieved and realistic targets are set.
You will be responsible for effective storyboarding and problem statement definition of key issues and challenges such that senior management has a clear understanding of the issues and potential solutions
You will explain quarterly and annual performance to senior management in terms of revenues and use of resources such as capital and balance sheet
You will ensure consistence and accuracy in the pricing and provisioning of all positions.

You will have:

Experience of working within a credit product control role or credit front office experience, or tax
Owned relationships with Revenue Earners at a senior level
A Degree and a Masters (or relevant international equivalent)
Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary to effectively articulate issues and risks across a variety of levels (Functional Heads, Global Heads and Board Members)
Presentation and storyboarding experience
Appreciation of Control and Risk Frameworks

Experience of valuations across a variety of asset classes
