Chevron's Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Global Drilling Completions Technical Training Knowledge Management Advisor located in Houston, Texas.

Overview:

This position is located within Energy Technology Company (ETC) Strategic Planning and Organizational Capability (SPOC) Global Technical Training and Knowledge Management Unit (GTTKM). Drilling Completions (DC) Advisor responsibilities are focused on Learning and Development (LD) programs and services in support of the GUG DC function enterprise wide.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Technical mentor for GTTKM DC technical staff (i.e., Mentor new rotational technical staff concerning well control and provide back-up training/facilitation for Chevron well control).
  • Maintain/refine the DC Horizons and Pathways global training programs offered within Chevron, inclusive of :
    -Lead teams of SME's to develop/upgrade Chevron/DTA delivered courses and adapting for use with remote delivery, developing experiential learning exercises, vetting 3rd party technical training).
    -Develop/upgrade/deliver well control certification courses, DWOP exercises, stuck pipe prevention workshops and other internal DC workshops.
  • Liaison between ETC GTTKM DC Training Center, industry and government agencies to track regulatory changes with respect to well control, inclusive of DW blowout capping technology.
  • Track and expedite contracted software development, simulation and technical service projects.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant oilfield experience.
  • Strong drilling and completions technical breadth and has demonstrated project management and operational well control skills.
  • Capable of mentoring less experienced technical staff.
  • Experience in establishing direction and driving results for project and work teams of subject matter experts. These experts will include DC SME's, Instructional Design consultants and / or 3rd party instructors.
  • Adept at identifying business solutions, engaging stakeholders and managing change. Critically thinks and is capable serving as liaison between Chevron and industry/government agencies.
  • Demonstrated good verbal, presentation and written skills; inclusive of demonstrated ability to speak to groups and lead or facilitate technical workshops and courses. Actively participates in team meetings and is at ease offering up ideas and opinions in a constructive manner.
  • Must have a current passport or able to attain a passport.
  • Required to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 20%), therefore must be physically capable of travel.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering or technical degree preferred.
