Our Product Strategists are a critical component of our investment strategy success. They are seasoned investment professionals that partner with our Portfolio Managers and act as the link between them and account managers, playing a central role in facilitating connectivity between investors and distribution. Additionally, the Lead Product Strategist is responsible for overseeing product development, product strategy and business development. Product Strategists are embedded within investment teams sitting and working directly with portfolio managers allowing them to deliver the highest quality investment communication to all clients globally.
We are actively searching for a dedicated Global Equity Lead Product Strategist that will join our Global Equity team and be based in London to lead in the following:
- Accelerate growth of the business
- Build strategic plans for the Global Equity business including product development and business development.
- Work directly with Global Equity portfolio managers and analysts on messaging and articulation of the portfolios
- Managing a team of Product Strategists in London and New York
- Acting as a “proxy” for the portfolio manager, you will meet with clients, prospects, and/or intermediaries to: explain the investment philosophy, process, and performance of specific investment products; and to provide updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the team’s market outlook.
- Work with both the retail and institutional sales force in educating them on the product range and raising the team’s profile in effort to maintain existing clients and bring in new client opportunities.
As the primary investment contact for account managers within the firm, you will be seen as the go to person for all day to day queries on the fund management team’s investment decisions and market views as well as all product related details.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clients, prospects, consultants and/or intermediaries with ongoing updates about BlackRock’s overall Global Equity investment philosophy, process, and outlook as well as on the performance and positioning of specific products.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge base on the investment team’s activities and outlook.
- Prepare portfolio reviews, market updates and other timely marketing materials that can be shared with account managers and clients. Promote high quality output and maintain oversight for all materials produced.
- Take a proactive approach to solving client’s investment-related, business and operational issues which arise during the course of the client’s relationship with BlackRock by serving as the liaison between the investment team and all other areas of BlackRock (compliance, legal, operations, marketing and sales).
- Editing/checking/finalizing product RFP/RFIs.
- Quarterly and monthly commentary writing to include performance attribution.
- Enable "minimal distraction" for fund manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in a client service/business development role, preferably within the financial services industry, both on the institutional and retail sides
- Experience in, or strong knowledge of, equity investments industry preferred
- Sharp presentation as well as oral and written communications skills
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Foreign language skills preferred
- Management responsibilities
- Cultural knowledge of global markets preferred
- MBA, other advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred
- IMC required.
