Global FP&A Manager

Full Job Description

- Develop in-depth understanding of the underwriting PL, relevant business drivers, market conditions and key initiatives for Aerospace in order to provide insightful information that supports decision making. Draw connections between the impact of key initiatives, financials and KPIs.
- Maintain visibility of the Global PL for Aerospace throughout the weekly RO. Understand, review and challenge all relevant RO items. Communicate the entries appropriately to the Profit Centre management and other stakeholders in a timely fashion.
- Prepare the quarterly business review presentation - link analytical review of PL, business drivers and impact of key business initiatives by region to represent business performance
- Develop understanding of the cost base by Region to provide recommendation on optimising - consolidate up to Global level in order to draw conclusions-recommendations around changes that are necessary to achieve required profitability. Understand the impact of the cost decisions on the production, loss, and commission ratios. This would involve meaningful analytics on: Headcount, Direct cost by function and category where appropriate, indirect cost by function
- Work with Enterprise Risk Management -Capital management on capital and risk related profitability measures.
- Support ad-hoc financial information requests from the Profit Centres - likely to include Reinsurance issues

- CPA-CIMA qualified with substantial post-qualification FPA exposure
- Experience of working in General Insurance-Reinsurance with exposure to full insurance PL - (Specialty and particularly Aerospace insurance exposure would be extremely beneficial)
- Strong Analytical background
- Financial forecasting-planning experience
- Experience of preparing and presenting data to senior management
- Good Excel Powerpoint skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect and translate financials into business (and vice versa) in a meaningful fashion
- Co-operative and collaborative approach with the ability to influence and communicate with people at very different levels and in different areas of the organisation
- Ability to lead change in order to achieve process improvement
- Ability to deal with large-scale data deficiencies in a practical manner - able to cover tactical shortcuts as well as drive long(er)-term process improvement

Specialty Insurance client based in London

£90 - £105,000 per annum plus benefits
