Fitch Ratings' Global Infrastructure and Project Finance Group is seeking a Director to cover the Energy and Industrials sectors in our New York office.

 

Fitch Ratings is a global ratings agency actively engaged in research and analysis of corporate, municipal and structured finance credits. Fitch's project finance team is a leader in the thermal power, renewable energy, transmission, oil and gas, and chemical production sectors, providing reliable credit ratings and insightful and timely research.

 

You will have responsibility for all aspects of credit research, including quantitative and qualitative analysis of financings of projects and infrastructure assets. This position requires a thorough review of financial and cash flow models developed by debt issuers and financial advisors and all relevant legal documents. You will develop and/or maintain models for proper surveillance of rated assets and projects, write research reports and press releases, prepare rating committee presentations and participate actively in rating committee discussions for both global and national scale ratings.

 

Responsibilities will primarily include:

-Leading ratings analysis of project debt financings, with an emphasis on energy and industrials sectors ratings;

-Preparing and leading rating committee presentations summarizing complex credit structures;

-Evaluating innovative credit concepts and participating in criteria development;

-Interacting with external parties including investors, bankers and issuers;

-Identifying relevant trends, assessing their credit impact and highlighting these trends in updated industry and market focused reports/presentations.

 

Qualifications:

-Master's degree in Finance, Business or Public Administration preferred.

-Minimum 7 to 10 years relevant work and leadership experience in project finance.

-Proven project finance credit skills gained in a bank, a rating agency or on the buy side, primarily in the energy and industrials sectors.

-High-quality writing and verbal communication skills.

-Strong organizational and presentation skills.

-Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

-Thorough familiarity with preparing and evaluating spreadsheet-based financial models.
