Global Mechanical Finite Element Analysis Specialist Job in Stamford PE92NB, Midlands UK

We require a dedicated Global Mechanical Finite Element Analysis Specialist to join our professional team so we will continue to provide an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality, performance and reliability, plus the best pre and post sales support the industry has to offer. Lead the development of mechanical analysis techniques such as Finite Element analysis, strain gauging, fatigue analysis, to provide complex mechanical analysis dynamic models, supporting technical services investigations globally on all technical aspects of Generator mechanical systems and interface capabilities.

Other duties include:

• Lead technical services development and implementation of mechanical analysis led design assessment supporting product investigations globally, on all products.
• Carry out Engineering investigations for mechanical design capabilities through application of FEA, strain gauging and fatigue analysis techniques, with occasional activity based at customers sites to develop a holistic views of performance and interaction with prime mover and mounting arrangements.
• Support application qualification globally on new and unique emerging market applications reporting on recommendations, improvements and verification of capability
• Lead customer interaction in terms of mechanical FE analysis.
• Carry out Mechanical tests and analysis pursuant of Quality Policies
• Carry out diagnostic/proving tests on customers machines with the ability to fault find on current and legacy machines in varied operational conditions.
• Lead specification activity on FE analysis software and associated instrument procurement requirements
• Raising of purchase orders for parts/tools required to support existing and new equipment deployment globally
• Travel globally, as and when needed to conduct the role and support Customer Service activity, including travelling unsociable hours where required.

You should have knowledge of mechanical theory to degree level or above and expert knowledge of instrumentation principles and operation. A sound knowledge ANSYS modelling software and electrical principles together with sound knowledge of dynamic machine interaction is required. You should also be able to demonstrate a desire to progress and succeed, be able to work as part of a team and work both independently and as part of a team.
