This position is based in Mountain View, CA or Atlanta, GA.

Google's Hardware Operations team consists of diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented engineers and managers who design and operate some of the most sophisticated systems in the world. This fast-growing group develops, builds and supports the physical infrastructure behind Google's products.
The role: Global Process Manager
You will facilitate process, design, optimization, and continuous improvement for Global Processes within the Hardware Operations organization. You will participate in one-on-one interviews and brainstorming sessions with various cross-functional groups via: tech talks, meetings, email, blogs, and documentation Fix-its." You will travel to global data centers and the Mountain View main campus to meet with subject matter experts and the end-user community to understand their requirements. You will find yourself in a variety of collaborative situations: encouraging innovation, observing and participating, as well as, listening to and coaching team members. You will also work with technical writers and data center operations techs to review processes unique to our hardware operations organization. You may also expect to participate in development of documentation and training.
Responsibilities:
- Define, manage, maintain, and improve processes within Google's hardware and software infrastructure.
- Act as the lead communicator on process between various projects and groups, and the functional area(s).
- Travel throughout Google to educate and be educated about Google infrastructure.
- Encourage innovation, process improvements and solutions within the functional area(s).
- Act as an advocate for function and process on software design teams for the group.
Requirements:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering (CE, ME, IE, etc) preferred or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of Process Experience in industry-standard process design and methodologies.
- Demonstrated process improvement experience and accomplishments. Not only should they have designed process but also Experience with influencing and leading organizational change to implement the process.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is also a plus.
- Technical expertise: Minimum knowledge of personal computers, such as an understanding of internal components (RAM, Disk Drives, CPU, Motherboard, etc) and perhaps is a "tinkerer" with consumer level computer systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels. Must be comfortable speaking before large groups.
