Position Description:
The role sits within the Global Product Control (GPC) area. The team supports a Commodities' credit and funding desk, and performs several global management reporting functions.
Responsibilities include
•Manage the review, reconcile and analyze daily PL
•Manage the month end close reconciliation and signoff process
•Serve as a point of contact for traders regarding PL analysis and reporting
•Preparation of daily and monthly PL and market commentaries to explain significant PL movements and events
•Development of efficient controls for new business
•Liaise with other areas of Finance to ensure accounting disclosures and standards are applied correctly
•Coordinating resolution of issues with other departments, including front office, risk and operations
•Ad hoc requests including regulatory, valuation, risk and operations
Skills Required:
•1-3 years experience in financial control and accounting
•Organized professional with people and process management experience
•Understanding of derivative instruments including futures, swaps, and options
•Risk awareness and the ability to challenge items and think in a control focused manner
•Logical thought process and the ability to critically assess and evaluate problems
•Experience in Excel and Access
Skills Desired:
•Preferred experience within an organization that trades energy commodities
•Preferred experience with credit derivatives and credit valuation adjustments
