Position Summary            

Best in class industrial products manufacturer is seeking  a Global Product Line Engineer due to record orders and aggressive new product launches.  The successful candidate will lead management of technical and maintenance related to the assigned product line. This leader is also responsible for planning and execution of projects that facilitate product quality, manufacturing improvements, cost savings and product variant development as driven by customer and market needs.  The position is located in Indianapolis, IN.

 

Responsibilities

               

·         Prepare necessary product engineering data needed  by manufacturing, product development and sales

·         Provide Sales and Product Management support

·         Provide drawings and other technical information to facilitate product support

·         Manage product range to facilitate continual improvement for quality and on time delivery

·         Manage special orders

·         Manage BOM repository, structuring sheets and related tools

·         Manage ECN process focusing on concise descriptions of changes with relate impacts

·         Liaison with Quality Engineer on product quality issues in an effort to determine root causes and  future problem elimination.  Includes support of related quality documentation such as NCR’s, CAR’s, CCR’s.

·         Provide technical support to Field Service as needed

·         Interface with Engineering Manager and NPD to enable product line continuous improvement

·         Evaluate and report on applicable new technology, materials, manufacturing techniques

·         Interface with manufacturing engineering on new designs, DFM, DFA, cost minimization

·         Provide engineering calculations needed for bearing loads, axial and radial thrust loads, stress calculations to ensure component integrity

·         Prepare formal report on completion of assigned project

·         Support Material and Quality departments with supplier issues

·         Manage maintenance dept budget and provide inputs for engineering activity budgets

·         Regularly assess Company SOP’s regarding continuous improvement focusing on On-time-delivery and defect reduction

·         Interact with Company personnel at all levels

·         Work and promote teamwork in accordance with corporate standards for safety, environmental, quality, continuous improvement, communication, internal controls, etc.)

·         Other duties as requested

 

Qualifications    

·         BSME, BSMET, BSCE or related technical degree.  Associates degree considered depending on experience

·         3+ years pump experience

·         Experience managing multiple projects

·         Superior presentation and communication skills

·         CATIA or similar 3D modeling experience

·         Good networking and negotiation skills

·         30% travel, some international

·         Valid US passport

·         Skilled using MS office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)

·         Excellent written and verbal skills including multidisciplinary teaming

·         Lotus Notes, ERP system
