Global Reinsurance Manager

Full Job Description

The incumbent of this role will be responsible for the identification of insurance - reinsurance and other partners (brokers) for the provision of reinsurance programme opportunities. The incumbent of the role will work closely with the Business Development teams on tailoring and negotiating solutions to complex clients` problem statements with often apparently conflicting parameters. The incumbent will be instrumental in ensuring the execution of the contracts connected with the solutions identified.
Responsibilities:
- The identification of insurance - reinsurance and other partners for the provision of reinsurance programme opportunities
- The formalisation of Reinsurance Programme proposals
- Working closely with the Business Development team to tailor and negotiate solutions to complex clients problem statements, often with apparently conflicting parameters, connected with reinsurance arrangements.
- Gathering information from clients, brokers, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile;
- Building and maintaining ongoing relationships with clients, brokers, insurance houses including scheduling and attending meetings;
- Foreseeing clients` insurance needs, such as policy renewals;
- Researching insurance companies` policies and negotiating with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for the company at the best price;
- Renewing or amending existing policies;

- Extensive experience in insurance sector
- Wide network in industry.
- Good presentation skills
- Develop significant pipeline of Direct Insurers, Reinsurers, or other potential partners
- Negotiate broker fees
- Work with internal BD and Reinsurance experts.
- Be creative in finding solutions for the short term and the long term
- Understand capital position of company
- Proven execution capability
- Ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, especially written
- Must be able to undertake travel when required
- Reinsurance market networking
- Proven negotiating expertise at contract closing level
- Deep understanding of Reinsurance and Other Risk Transfer techniques
- Ability to work independently under pressure and with tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and presentational skills in English
- The ability to acquire a deep understanding of the products

Preferred Qualifications:

- Capital markets experience and knowledge
- Additional language skills
- Knowledge of rating agency procedures
- Knowledge of insurance company capital modelling
- Deep understanding of our products
