Global Sourcing Manager

We are seeking candidates with business and technical talent that are interested in broadening their knowledge base across Eastman Chemical Company by applying their analytical negotiation skills in conducting strategic analyses and contract negotiations for strategic indirect material categories.

 

·         Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for various indirect materials with a focus on technical procurement categories

·         Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships.

·         Lead various project teams to implement strategic sourcing projects in support of the respective category management strategy.

·         Develop procurement strategies by applying analytical skills in conducting strategic business analyses of strategic raw materials for indirect materials and capital projects.

·         Conduct commercial negotiations as a result of the implementation of procurement strategies that leverage volumes across multiple Eastman sites.

·         Extensive networking with other functions internally within the company (business management, procurement, engineering and construction, maintenance, supply chain, etc.) as well as externally (suppliers, industry consultants, etc.) will be necessary to develop a good flow of information throughout the organization.

·         Presentations of thorough strategic analyses to Senior Management in a credible concise manner.

·          Deliver insightful contributions through peer reviews.

Qualifications:

Education:

·         Bachelor's Degree by an accredited college or university required (Technical Degree Preferred)

·         MBA by an accredited university preferred but not required

Required Travel:

·         10% Travel is required for this position

Desired Skills/Experience:

·         Business acumen and strategic thinking

·         Good networking and communication skills

·         Technical understanding of mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, compressors, process pumps, etc. is preferred

·         Computer savvy - experience with Power Point Excel

·         Negotiation experience is preferred

·         Ability to develop supplier market segmentation, industry structure analyses and mid-long term forecasts for capital, indirect materials and services

·         Ability to translate various material forecasts and industry structure analysis into strategies for sourcing indirect material commodities

·         Ability to represent the company in the proper professional business manner to outside connections (Suppliers, Customers, Academia, Consultants, etc.)
