Global Standards Programme Lead
The Global Standards (GS) Programme has been formed to enable HSBC to adopt and enforce the highest compliance and behavioural standards across the Group in an integrated way across lines of business at a global, regional and in-country level.
The Global Standards (GS) Data Readiness Workstream Lead will have responsibility for ensuring that Data Readiness are appropriately implemented globally. With a direct reporting line to the Head of Global Standards Design, the key aspects of the role are to:
- Take responsibility for ensuring that the Data Readiness Workstream’s requirements and timelines are represented across GS Programmes’ plans and that programme plans are being executed appropriately
- Take responsibility for providing specific client type expertise to support the cross-line of business execution and deployment approaches
- Ensure cross LoB RAIDs are mitigated and resolved or escalated for resolution as appropriate
- Works closely with the GS Global Programme Managers, GS Global LoB Leads and GS LoB Delivery Leads
- Cross programme and cross business line responsibility for defining the global data strategies, models, approaches and toolkits for data readiness and ensuring they are adhered to across all GS programmes
- Responsible for ensuring that the Global Data Readiness Workstream requirements and timelines are represented in each GS programme plan
- Approving and recommending any regionalised and localised data readiness approaches, as proposed by the regional and local programme teams
- Approving any proposed amendments to the data readiness approaches for a specific Line of Business and /or escalating any proposed changes to deployment priorities
- Involvement in appointment and performance assessment of key workstream and programme management staff
Experience / Education
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability of organisational planning, resource mobilisation and problem solving.
- Highly experienced in dealing with senior and executive sponsors and rationalising cross line of business priorities.
- Experienced in delivering transformational programmes in a Global Banking Markets context
- Strong track record of business change programme delivery in a global, regional and local structure
- Experienced with operating in a global regulatory environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
- Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems
- Strong communication skills – applicable through multiple channels (written, spoken, workshops, presentations)
- Typical qualifications would include a Bachelor’s degree / equivalent experience and the role holder will have professional qualifications in Project/Programme Management e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Proven capability as a programme management office leader in delivering large complex programmes
- Excellent track record in programme delivery, typically in both execution and coordination roles
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment is desirable
